Spring is in the air and the shops!
It's the time of year when we can really start looking forward. New year sales are coming to an end and the new ranges of fashions, furnishings etc are being displayed and sold. It's the time to look at what you have in your wardrobe for Spring, consider making some new pieces or updating those you've got. So,we some useful tips from Sue Locke (see How To section) to revamp and restyle. As February is the 'month of love' in our Sewing techniques section we've some pretty rolled rosettes for you to make as part of a gift and a three-part series on making luxurious lingerie to indulge in! And as it's time to think about spring cleaning, and possibly refurnishing, we've bought forward our tips on measuring for curtains.
If you are looking suitable gift for this time of year, take a look at the quick gardening gloves, lacy knickers, silk scarves or how-to add stitched flowers to a plain cardigan - all in our Sewing Projects section. For the children (or young at heart) we've a rose petal pillow - perfect for Valentine's Day, ribbon rosettes and a flower power top that combines two T-shirts with great results. And for the very young, a tent that can be errected inside on rainy days, or outside if the weather is fine - just in time for half term hols!
